I CALLED ROGER WILSON. HE ANSWERED THE PHONE.

“Roger, this is Jake Lewis.”

“Jake, glad you called. What’s your decision?”

“We’re in; count us in, Roger.”

“Great, your background investigations were approved. Your employment paperwork is being hand-delivered. Sign all the documentation and give it back to the guy who delivers it. Don’t worry about him, he works directly for me. You can trust him. When you’re in the field, he will be our go-between. Remember, no direct contact. The training is scheduled in two weeks. You will receive everything you will need at the training. Credentials, weapons, ammunition, gear, and cars. If you want anything else, just tell them. You’ll be in training for six months. I still don’t know where it will be. Anyway, congratulations.”

Ted said, “This kind of scares me.”

“This is just another chapter in our lives, pard.”
